About Us
Samantha Harper
Samantha has been riding since the age of 3. At the age of 11 she decided to divert her attention away from her family’s love of show jumping and concentrated on pure dressage. This proved to be a wise decision, as despite a string of quirky and sometimes naughty ponies, Samantha went on to achieve great success. In her early teens Samantha was chosen for the BYRDS ‘A’ squad and was a finalist in the BYRDS talent spotting. Samantha then made the transition onto the junior circuit, retaining her place on the BYRDS squad and being chosen for the U21 Junior Team in 1996. An unfortunate accident to her top dressage horse Grand Pikat abruptly halted what seemed to be a promising Young Rider career for Samantha. Undeterred she changed her focus into her up and coming young horses whilst completing a BSc(Hons) and MSc in Applied Equine Science.
Samantha also has a great love for polo, and has managed to take her knowledge of dressage training and apply it to schooling polo ponies. She has been fortunate to work with the top polo players in England, and currently prepares high goal ponies for the English Captain Luke Tomlinson and his brother Mark Tomlinson, both here in England at the Beaufort Polo Club and at their base in Argentina.
Samantha has trained with some of the top National trainers being based with Ferdi Eilberg for 2 years, Carl Hester and Adam Kemp. This sound grounding in classical dressage has made her successful as a rider and enables her to continue her success into her training and her clients.
